MARCH BREAKFAST IS SET FOR THE 8th!
Welcome to the Twin Cities American Legion Post 313 Website.
After a generous rainfall in February, spring is on its way with longer days and lots of opportunities for veterans to gather. Of course we have our coffee and conversation gatherings in the club room on Mondays and Thursdays starting at around 8:30-9:00 AM. We also serve the world's best $5 breakfast on the second Saturday of each month. Mark your calendars for March 8, April 12, May 10, and June 14. We start serving at 9 AM on the dot, so please make your reservations in advance by email to bobsrags@gmail.com or call the Legion at (415) 924-6283. If you want to be sure to sit with your friends, arrive by 8:45 to claim your territory.
Our Legion Hall is home to ragtime and jazz music on the second Monday of the month. Ragtime starts at 5:30 followed by jazz at 7:30. It's BYOB and food which makes it like an evening picnic. You might even want to dance the night away! No reservations are required and the event is free (although a donation to the tip jar is greatly appreciated). Take note of the dates: March 10, April 14, May 12, and June 9. It is always fun.
May brings more than May flowers. Our Memorial Day observance ceremony, starting at 9:30 AM, will be held at the exhibition hall of the Marin County Civic Center on Monday, May 26. Starting with lively marches played by the Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District Non-Marching Band, (colloquially known as the Sewer Band), we will also feature the amazing teenage a cappella chorus, 'Til Dawn. Wreathe presentations to honor our fallen heroes will proceed a keynote address by Ernie Bergman, Vietnam Veteran and passionate advocate for veterans' causes.
American Legion Post and Auxilliary Unit 179 is offering a free picnic lunch after the Memorial Day observance. It's a great opportunity to meet and enjoy friends old and new. Veterans get one free drink ticket from their famous Dugout Bar. All you need to do is show up at the Log Cabin, 30 Veterans Place, San Anselmo after leaving the Civic Center event.
We look forward to seeing you there!
