Welcome to the Twin Cities American Legion Post 313

Halloween ends and before you could even say “Boo!” Christmas is everywhere!  It is hard to believe that before we know it, we will be putting our decorations away and having to remember to write 2026 on our checks and correspondence. It is definitely a whirlwind time of year!

Thanksgiving is barely a footnote in all the holiday hustle and bustle.  But Thanksgiving is worthy of more attention.  It can be a focus for remembering our many blessings. Many of us face loneliness during this time of year.  It is a time when we can reach out to people you know who could use some spirit-lifting.

Veterans’ Day, Tuesday, November 11 was celebrated  at the Marin County Civic Center. It started with a half hour of lively marches played by the “Sewer Band.” A piper accompanied a presentation of the flags by local veteran leaders. The Marin Barbershop Chorus performed the National Anthem, among other patriotic songs. Several representatives of the various veteran organization spoke about their posts.  The recurring theme was, “We All Need Younger Vets to join to keep our organizations alive for future generations.”

The event drew an audience of around 1,000. After the ceremony a free barbeque was offered on the fair grounds.

I sincerely wish all of you many blessings during this time of year.  If there is some way our post can assist you, please leave a message at the post (415) 924-6286) and we will get back to you.
